# Start here

Install ArenaRegen, create one arena, and confirm a regen.

You will install the plugin, save one arena, break a few blocks, and regen them. Do this away from builds you care about. A regen overwrites everything inside the saved region.

## Requirements

Choose one jar for your server. Do not install both jars.

* Use the **MODERN** jar on Paper 26.2. Requires Java 25 or higher.
* Use the **LEGACY** jar on Spigot or Paper 1.18 through 1.21.x. Requires Java 17 or higher.

Multiverse-Core and PlaceholderAPI are optional. If you use Multiverse-Core, ArenaRegen detects worlds loaded by Multiverse and loads arenas in those worlds automatically.

{% step %}

## Install the jar

Put the matching jar in the `plugins/` directory. Start the server once. The plugin writes files in `plugins/ArenaRegen/`.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Select the arena

```
/ar wand
```

Left-click one corner. Right-click the opposite corner.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Save it

```
/ar create testduels
```

The plugin stores a copy of every block in that region. Free ArenaRegen allows up to 8 arenas.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Break blocks, then regen

Break or place a few blocks inside the region. Then run:

```
/ar regenerate testduels
```

The blocks return to the saved copy. If they do not, check the FAQ before you hook a duels plugin.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## What to do next

* Set a spawn with `/ar setspawn testduels`.
* Preview the border with `/ar preview testduels`.
* Add a timer with `/ar schedule testduels 5m`.
* Hook a duels plugin so the map resets when a match ends.
